    After Hurricane Michael hit Tyndall Air Force Base in October 2018, the Air Force and Army forged a partnership with a single vision in mind--to build the “Installation of the future.” The Tyndall Project Management Office is rebuilding the base and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers became an important ally as the rebuild moved forward. With crucial partners like the USACE working alongside the PMO, Tyndall is on track to become a 21st century leader for the Air Force.

    SAME's Federal Small Business Conference connects small businesses directly with Federal Government procurement decision makers, contracting officers, small business liaison officers, and leaders. The event brings together small businesses with large businesses that have teaming and sub-contracting opportunities in support of government work. The 2019 SBC, held Nov. 20-22, 2019, in Dallas Texas, gave members of the Transatlantic Division team an opportunity to provide information on the projects and programs TAD anticipates we will begin developing in 2020 throughout the Middle East.

    Coming together for those in need

    Members of the Memphis District stay busy with work, but that doesn’t keep them from finding time to help those around us in need. Two employees in particular, Regional Technical Specialist Jamie Evans and Contract Specialist Sequoria Wilson, managed to coordinate clothing drives recently to give to the homeless in our local area, each doing so on separate occasions.

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Smithville Lake celebrates 30th managed deer hunt

    Nearly 150 people filled a maintenance facility with excitement at Smithville Lake around 4 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019. They were all there for one reason, to get out into the wild and seek a big buck this weekend. For the 30th year, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Smithville Lake hosted what’s known as the world’s largest managed deer hunt for mobility-impaired hunters. During this two-day event, 60 hunting blinds are set up across 3,800 acres of prime ground, not available for public hunting. Along with a volunteer, these hunters seek out the best spot near daybreak and wait out their target.

    VICKSBURG, Miss. (November 15, 2019) -- In a packed conference room on a Friday morning, Dr. Zeki Demirbilek, a research hydraulics engineer for the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center’s Coastal and Hydraulics Laboratory, bid farewell to his colleagues and friends at a retirement ceremony held in his honor, November 15, 2019.
