  • USACE senior leaders visit Philadelphia District

    Mr. Jaime Pinkham, Acting Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works, and Maj. Gen. Butch Graham, USACE Deputy Commanding General for Civil and Emergency Operations, visited Philadelphia District projects and met with partners in Delaware and Maryland on June 15-16, 2021.
  • Army Corps to conduct repairs on St. Georges Bridge

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Philadelphia District and its contractor Freyssinet, Inc. will be completing joint seal repairs on the St. Georges Bridge in Delaware. Work will begin Monday June 14 and last for about two weeks. Both lanes of the bridge will remain open during the project; however, a lane shift through the bike lane may be enacted.
  • Philly District to make repairs on Chesapeake City Bridge

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Philadelphia District announced repair work on the Chesapeake City Bridge will begin late March 2019 and is expected to be completed by late June 2019.  
  • Repair work to St. Georges Bridge nears completion

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Philadelphia District and its contractor Freyssinet, Inc. continue to make repairs to the St. Georges Bridge. Work includes replacement of 45 floor beam covers and more than 7,000 bolts and rivets on the underside of the structure, and replacement of all deck joint strip seals. Work is expected to be completed around the end of January.
  • Philly District to close St. Georges Bridge for repair work

    PHILADELPHIA, PA. (August 10, 2018) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Philadelphia District announced the St. Georges Bridge will be closed to all traffic from Monday, Sept. 10, 2018 through January of 2019. The Army Corps and its contractor will be completing repair work of steel beams necessitating the closure.
