Repair work to St. Georges Bridge nears completion

Work includes replacement of 45 floor beam covers, more than 7,000 bolts and rivets, and replacement of all deck joint strip seals. Work is expected to be completed around the end of January. St. Georges Bridge was constructed in 1941 and is owned and maintained by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Philadelphia District and its contractor Freyssinet, Inc. continue to make repairs to the St. Georges Bridge. Work includes replacement of 45 floor beam covers and more than 7,000 bolts and rivets on the underside of the structure, and replacement of all deck joint strip seals. Work is expected to be completed around the end of January.
