Corps will dig dry conditions with finished Kentucky Lock cofferdam
GRAND RIVERS, Ky. (March 24, 2021) – The cofferdam at the Kentucky Lock Addition Project is finished, a milestone that paves the way for downstream excavation work to prepare the site for construction of the remaining portion of the new lock chamber.

NORFOLK, Va. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will replace three of eight chamber valves at Great Bridge Lock along the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway in Chesapeake starting today. The $950,000 project is a joint effort by Norfolk District and neighboring Huntington District in West Virginia.

Great Bridge Lock to close temporarily to replace lock gates
The Great Bridge Lock on the Albemarle and Chesapeake Canal will temporarily close to vessel traffic from noon Feb. 19 to 9 p.m. Feb. 20 to replace the set of lock gates.
