    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Philadelphia District ushered in new leadership as Lt. Col. Ramon Brigantti assumed command of the organization from Lt. Col. David Park during a July 9th ceremony in the Wanamaker Building's Crystal Tea Room. Brigantti became the 61st commander in the District's 155 year history.

    USGS identifies problems with Pearce Creek disposal facility

    A study commissioned by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has identified problems with the groundwater in the vicinity of the Pearce Creek Confined Disposal Facility, a site the Corps seeks to utilize for maintenance dredge sediment from the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal southern approach channels.
