Raystown opens recreation areas for Canada Goose hunting

Published Dec. 20, 2013

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Raystown Lake announces the opening of portions of the following areas beginning Friday, Dec. 20, 2013 for Canada Goose hunting: Seven Points beach and boat launch areas; Aitch recreation area; Tatman Run beach; and the Weaver Falls recreation area.

These areas will close Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, and reopen from Feb. 1 through Feb. 28, 2014 for the purpose of hunting Canada Geese.

The Corps will post signs designating hunting and restricted zones within these areas, and hunters are advised that there is no off-season maintenance on these roadways.  The Corps may close these access areas depending on weather and road conditions, so vehicle operators will be traveling at their own risk.

Hunters participating in hunting activities at the Raystown Lake Project must strictly adhere to all Pennsylvania Game Commission regulations, applicable U.S. Fish and Wildlife regulations, as well as any special regulations posted by the Corps.
