Blue Marsh Lake -- LEESPORT, PA (15 APRIL 2025) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Philadelphia District had announced various areas will be closed for public access due to paving and construction activities involved with the rehabilitation of park roadways.
Closures and access restrictions that were previously scheduled to begin starting April 11, 2025 have been rescheduled to begin May 1, 2025. This schedule delay may impact access to park areas for the Memorial Day holiday weekend, such as limited parking availability or potential closures during that time.
Areas to be affected by closures or access restrictions include:
- Visitor Center and Administration Area
- Stilling Basin Access, including the Blue Marsh Lake Trail and Mountain Bike Skills Area
- Dry Brooks Day Use Area, including all facilities within the Day Use Area including the swim beach, pavilions, the Eyes of the Eagle Sensory Trail, and bathroom buildings.
- Blue Marsh Lake Trail between the Dry Brooks Boat Ramp and Water Road. Active trail resurfacing will be occurring from the Stilling Basin to Water Road with recycled millings from the paving projects.
Additionally, during this time period there will be a temporary closure of the Blue Marsh Lake Trail at the Mount Pleasant Bridge for PennDOT paving operations between April 21, 2025 through May 09, 2025.
Boat Ramps and other park access areas will not be affected by this closure. Park visitors are asked to not walk into closed areas or trail sections for their safety and worker safety.
