Col. Christopher Barron, of Goshen, N.Y., assumed command of the New England District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, July 31, 2014. Barron’s most recent assignment was as the U.S. Army War College’s Visiting Defense Fellow at Queens University, in Kingston, Ontario. He graduated from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in physics and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1991.
