To date, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) has more than 38 FEMA Mission Assignments exceeding $134 million. Providing temporary emergency power to the nine buildings at the Redfern Housing Complex,in Far Rockaway, N.Y., as well as roughly 50 other buildings in six complexes throughout Far Rockaway, is one of those mission assignments. Some of the buildings, like four of the nine in the Redfern complex, must have water pumped out of the basements before power can be restored.
