Colonel Kent D. Savre hails from Edina, Minnesota and was commissioned an Engineer second lieutenant in 1985 upon graduation from Officer Candidate School. Colonel Savre has served in a variety of command and staff positions beginning as a platoon leader with the 17th Engineer Battalion, 2nd Armored Division, Fort Hood, Texas. While stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington he deployed to Southwest Asia in December 1990 and assumed command Bravo Company, 864th Engineer Battalion. He returned to Fort Lewis to serve with the 555th Engineer Group followed by assignment as Aide-de-Camp to the I Corps Deputy Commanding General. From 1995-1997 Colonel Savre served as a project engineer for the Army Corps of Engineers St. Paul District. He then joined 1st Infantry Division in Germany and deployed with the Initial Entry Force into Kosovo in June 1999 as Task Force Engineer. He served a second tour in Kosovo as the 82nd Engineer Battalion Executive Officer and returned to Bamberg for duty as the 1st Infantry Division Engineer Brigade S3 and Executive Officer. More recently, Colonel Savre served at Fort Lewis, Washington as the Assistant Corps Engineer for I Corps and deployed to Iraq in May 2003 to command the 864th Engineer Battalion supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. From 2005-2007 he served as Director of the Counter Explosive Hazards Center at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri focused on rapid solutions to the improvised explosive device threat. In 2008 he assumed command of the 36th Engineer Brigade at Fort Hood, Texas and deployed to Iraq in March 2010 as the United States Forces-Iraq Theater Engineer Brigade commander. In 2011 he was assigned to the Pentagon as Director of the Office of the Chief of Engineers. His military education includes the Engineer Officer Advanced Course, United States Army Command and General Staff College and United States Army War College. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction from the University of Wisconsin-Stout
