North Hartland Lake beach and boat ramp to close August 15 for construction work

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District announced today that the beach and boat ramp at North Hartland Lake in Hartland and Hartford, Vermont, will close early this season so a critical construction project can get underway.

The beach and boat ramp at North Hartland Lake will be closed starting Aug.15, 2022, to allow a contractor to remove a plugged culvert which currently runs under the parking lot, lawn and beach, and drains into the lake. The culvert will be rerouted under the road once construction is complete.

Visitors will not be able to walk their boats or kayaks down to the lake to launch due to the blocked off construction areas.

The shelters, playground equipment, bathroom and trails will remain open during construction and until the recreation season ends Sept. 5, 2022. North Hartland Lake park is open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.  Picnic shelter reservations can be made by calling the National Recreation Reservation Service toll free at (877) 444-6777 or online at www.recreation.gov.
