    Omaha District receives distinguished honors for executing record-setting $595 million small business program

    Each year, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Headquarters Office of Small Business hosts a Small Business Awards Ceremony to recognize districts and individuals across the organization who have made significant contributions to maximize small business opportunities. During a virtual ceremony hosted in Washington, D.C., the Omaha District received several awards for executing its largest small business program ever at $595 million during fiscal year 2020.

    Kansas City District delivers $740 million program for the Heartland

    As the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District wrapped up final contract awards for fiscal year 2020, the team wants to share a summary of a few major accomplishments and how they tie into the district mission and benefit the Heartland region. The district awarded 1575 contracts worth $740.1 million in fiscal year 2020 – ending September 30.

Although the Federal Government's Small Business Programs apply only for contracts within the United States, TAD encourages prime contractors to use qualifying U.S. and local national small businesses to the maximum extent practicable for our overseas projects.     TAD promotes Small Business participation in overseas programs

    SAME's Federal Small Business Conference connects small businesses directly with Federal Government procurement decision makers, contracting officers, small business liaison officers, and leaders. The event brings together small businesses with large businesses that have teaming and sub-contracting opportunities in support of government work. The 2019 SBC, held Nov. 20-22, 2019, in Dallas Texas, gave members of the Transatlantic Division team an opportunity to provide information on the projects and programs TAD anticipates we will begin developing in 2020 throughout the Middle East.

The tremendous success in contracting with small businesses is significantly attributable to transparent communication and training offered to small businesses across the Nation. USACE maintains an open door for meetings/counseling/training small business firms throughout the year.

    Nashville District reaches women-owned small business milestone

    NASHVILLE, Tenn.-- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District exceeded its goal of two percent of all contractible actions for women-owned small businesses in fiscal year 2013. Roy Rossignol, Nashville District Small Business Office chief, said the achievement is significant because the district had upwards of $200 million in total contracts -- and awards went to more than 50 women-owned small businesses that accounted for about $21 million of that total.
