On November 2, 2017, Col. Jason Kelly, along with several key members of the Norfolk District, met with stakeholders, partners, and local citizens concerning flood control, low flow augmentation, recreation, and hydropower. Nestled in the hills of Covington, Virginia stakeholders were taken on a tour of Gathright Dam, which was immediately followed by an in-depth discussion on Gathright Dam. Several of the key speakers included: Col. Jason Kelly, Raymond Dridge, Matthew McKeehan, Anthony Lockridge, Alicia Farrow, Robin Williams, and Owen Reece. Also contributing to the discussion were representatives from the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries (DGIF) and Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ).
